Colby Swift - Soul Meets Body [DCFC cover]
the man in the photo with his head down writing with his justin bieber haircut is colby swift of white house, tn based band average age statue. i’m not sure if his solo project is called colby swift or 2 a.m. wake-up. regardless, it’s neutral milk hotel folky as compared to the manchester orchestra and brand new influenced western styled alternative rock of average age statue. this death cab cover was uploaded by colby this morning
The Weather Kings
these guys placed third in the 2011 rocketown battle of the bands. these guys are a mix of blues and alternative rock fronted by, former electro/techno-pop artist, Ashly Badgett (Bashly). I wanna say they kinda sound like a female version of a jack white related project, or a band that could be on third man, but that simply doesn’t do them justice. listen for yourselves and decide.
Fox Fun
upcoming punk band from nashville. the best way i can think to describe these guys is pujol, but as a teenager with tons of poppy hooks. composed of two soon to be sophomores from NSA. asher and ben have both been playing music for forever. some of you guys might remember ben from the original line up of kiddo. if you dig these guys, like them on facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fox-Fun/173791589305956
Looking For Alaska
out of memphis, tn. we got to catch them this past weekend at the rocketown out of school bash. pretty solid rock band to keep an eye out for
Madi Diaz
a little indie pop folk duo from nashville. check them out. endearing lyrics with pretty melodies. Love You Now, is a key track to listen and it’s available on itunes
-edit-
so within the last few days it seems like they removed their albums from itunes, BUT you can still stream their songs on facebook =D
Merriment and Mayhem
experimental genre bending band based out of brentwood, tn. still a little bit rough around the edges, but there’s potential for them to get polished. worth checking out if they’re playing a show, especially if you like cool sounding bass lines
watch. watch. watch.
